Tailored trousers are quite often not very comfortable yet are a part of life for many.
So what is the point in buying designer womens tailored trousers instead of the cheap ones from the local store?
One word. Comfort. (other words would also be quality, fit, customer service, sustainability, I could go on but to keep it simple lets focus on comfort)
The Peony tailored trouser from fashion design label Désirée (that's us!) are actually comfortable! Instead of the standard tailored fabric we use a stretch fabric so you can enjoy tailored trousers that are comfortable. This season we have opted for a stretch denim (plain black is also available) so if you want a tailored jeans look, then these trousers are for you.
You might notice that the leg on this trouser is quite long and there is a good reason for that. They have been specially designed to fit nearly any leg length as they will catch at the ankle and scrunch to the perfect length. If you happen to be really tall then they will just sit at the ankle. Either way, win win. Perfect length trouser with no hemming.
So, we have comfort, perfect trouser length, what else?
High waisted so you don't need to worry about bending over and 'oversharing' or having a cold back.
Back pockets because we all need pockets and they zip up at the back so you don't need to worry about sitting down and having your zip bend in the opposite direction like you will get on some trousers.

Parcels sent via Post Haste within New Zealand and will be delivered within 1-2 working days.
International orders will be sent via International Air and will take approximate 3-10 workings days after being despatched.
We are happy to return or exchange items within 14 days of purchase.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment that.

We use post haste and will send you a tracking number when your item is sent out
How much is shipping, postage and handling?
We offer free shipping via courier in NZ and worldwide by post. We know that getting to the checkout and having to work out shipping costs is never fun so we just decided that we would offer free shipping all the time instead.
How quickly will my order be dispatched?
It depends whether the clothing item is currently in stock or needs to be made. If it is in stock then it will be sent out as soon as payment has cleared. If it needs to be made then it will be sent out within 24-48 hours and we will contact you to let you know the item needs to be made. If you need it urgently please let us know and we will do what we can to get it to you by then :-)
Where is everything made?
Right here in beautiful little NZ (New Zealand). Almost all of it is made within the greater Wellington region but occasionally a few things will be made in Auckland. Being a locally made brand is very important to us, we have a wonderful Industry in New Zealand which we are proud to support.
Who makes the clothing?
Some items are made in-house in our Wellington workroom and the rest are sent out to our lovely outworkers, who are mothers working from home running their own small businesses. We love dressing real women with clothes are made by real women too :-)
Where is the fabric sourced from?
Currently we purchase fabrics through New Zealand based fabric wholesalers. Unfortunately there are very few places in New Zealand who produce fabrics so we are unable to source all of our fabrics locally so the next best option is to keep as much of that business in New Zealand by buying from kiwi business.
How does the sizing work?
Our sizing page will show you how to measure yourself to work out your clothing size for our brand. The sizing chart shows the body size we have made the clothing to fit. The fashion items shown on the model shows how things will fit if the size chart is followed. So something is slim fit and you would like it a bit looser then go up a size likewise if an item is loose on the model and you would like it a slimmer fit then go down a size.
Can you customise clothing items you offer online?
Yes we sure can. If you need something in a different colour or slightly longer etc please contact us and we will do our best to accomodate your request.
Can I return clothing purchased from you?
Sure. If you need to return or exchange an item please email us and we will arrange for the item to get picked up and exchanged or refunded. Please ensure that you contact us within 14 days of receiving your order and that the clothing is unworn and the original tags are intact.
Do you send clothing on appro (approval)?
If you are unfamiliar with our sizes and would like to try on a couple of sizes please contact us and we can arrange to send items on appro. Please note that a credit card number will be required for this so that it can be charged if items are not returned within the specified time.
Can I return a Sale Item?
No, unfortunately we do not accept online shop returns on Sale items unless the item is faulty in which case we will happily refund it.
Do you offer Laybuy?
