What are Mothballs? And why do you need them?

Camphorwood mothballs are small round balls of a specific type of wood that moths don't like the scent of. Since they don't like the scent they tend to steer clear of it along with whatever happens to be near them.
One of the things that moths love to do is eat wool. In particular, your beautiful woollen clothes. They create annoying little holes that ruin your clothes.
You can add little patches to cover over the holes in attempts to rescue that item but the easiest thing is prevention.
We sell these wooden mothballs in bags of 15 and they are designed to stay in the bag and have the scent come through. Keeping them in the bag also prevents any possible choking hazard for little ones. This bag also means you can pop them in a drawer and not have little wooden balls rolling around or you can hang them up in your wardrobe, or both depending on where and how you store your woollens.
Camphorwood mothballs have been around for a long time but prior to them, people used to keep their woollen clothes in wooden chests (usually cedar or camphorwood). This had the same effect but is much harder to do these days. Not sure if you've tried to buy real wood furniture recently but it is hard to find and rather expensive. Purchasing a few bags of mothballs is definitely easier and cheaper.
