Save A Life Show

December 02, 2016

Firstly, how crazy is it that Christmas is just around the corner? Is it just me or has this year just disappeared?

I know I should be excited but I'm too busy to be excited just yet... maybe by Christmas I will be ready for it. (haha probably not but one can hope)

Things have been a bit quiet from me on the social media front but not for lack of things going on. Just the opposite in fact. There has been so much happening that I have been focusing on those things and not having time to share.

But sharing is caring ;-) so here is a bit about one of the first big and very exciting things that have happened recently.

The Save A Life Fashion Show was a really awesome charity show raising money for the Life Flight Trust. The other day I got a letter in the mail letting me know that the show had raised over $10k

I was so happy to be part of this show for such an amazing cause and to know that I played a part in raising that money which will help save lives.

The show featured a few designers, myself included, along with some dancers and singers.

It was a really fun night and I got to meet tonnes of lovely people, the people organising the show, attendees, models and of course the lovely Heather Du Plessis-Allen who was compére at the show. (side note, the girl knows how to take a selfie! and she is just super lovely)

For the runway I showed the Spring Summer 2017 Sliding Doors collection and it was great to see the collection on a variety of women with different ages, body types and ethnicities. I really enjoyed seeing how they suited all these differences.

To finish off the show I presented a couple of preview pieces from next season.

To tie the two collections together I made these beautiful black chiffon scarves for all the models to wear on the runway and then they doubled as a great little thank you for the time and effort they put into the show. I kept one for myself as well because I put in time and effort too ;-)
